BT sues Google
Google is being sued yet again, but I have to admit to not having seen this one coming. The instigator of the lawsuit is British Telecom, the UK’s former state owned national telecommunications firm, which is now a private company. BT, as British Telecom is known in Britain, has filed the suit in Delaware in the States and alledges that a score of Google products infringe upon six patents BT holds. The products affected include the likes of Google Maps, Music and of course that old favourite of the patent lawsuit, Android.
For their part Google have yet to comment upon the lawsuit although frankly it wouldn’t be a surprise if they didn’t say anything. Even if they did it would unlikely be anything we haven’t heard before given how often Google has found itself at the receiving end of this type of legal action.
